PANFISH ARTICULATED BULLETHEAD
These smaller versions of the Articulated Bullethead Darter is tied on a #6 stainless steel hook so it can be used for the saltwater panfish as well as the freshwater species. This 2 1/2" version possesses the same action as their bigger brothers. The white or chartreuse would also make a good shad fly.
NEW STANDARD ARTICULATED BULLETHEAD
This version is the same size as the original Bullethead with the connector for added animation. The fly is still small enough for crappie and yellow perch when they are in the mood for larger prey.
Note the addition of coyote tail as a option. Coyote in the water looks like a crab in shrimp in the water.
SINGLE ARTICULATED BULLETHEAD
The single connector version creates a fly 5 to 6 1/2". This is my "go to" fly in most cases; it will turn on the larger predators.
DOUBLE ARTICULATED BULLETHEAD
The double rear hook articulated Bullethead Darter is 7 to 8" long with a 2/0 stainless steel rear hook. This big fly will certainly interest big fish like muskys, northerns or stripers. The plus with this tying version is with the rear hook the fish has no leverage to shake the hook out because all the connectors are the only thing it is moving. This is a BIG FISH FLY and will require a 9 to 10 weight fly rod to handle the fly and heavy tippets. Check out my giant fly leader. Of course, for the toothy fish a wire tippet would be advised.
TRIPLE ARTICULATED BULLETHEAD
The new triple rear hook articulated Bullethead Darter is 9 to 10" long with a 3/0 stainless steel rear hook. This big fly will certainly interest big fish like muskys, northern pike or striped bass. This is a BIG FISH FLY and will require a 9 to 10 weight fly rod to handle the fly and heavy tippets. Check out my giant fly leader. Of course, for the toothy fish a wire tippet would be advised.
